Animals in Captivity - Inquiry

Hi Kea Class,

It was great hearing some of your inquiry questions in class today.

Remember that these questions will be the starting point for your Animals in captivity Inquiry unit.

Some things that you need to consider are:

Do you know the answers to your questions? If so you will have to go back and rethink.

Are your questions open ended?

    Hi, my top 5 questions are:

    1. Why can't goldfish stand chlorine?
    (if chlorine is dangrous to goldfish, why not us?)
    2. What happens when goldfish touch salt water?
    3. Why can't goldfish close there eyes?
    4. How do goldfish sleep with eyes open?
    5. Why do goldfish change colors?

    I'm going to answer my questions using books,
    internet and by asking other people about
    the questions.

    How do animals feel about humans?
    Do different types of animals understand each other?
    Do animals have a language?
    Are there any uncaptivised types of animals?
    Why cant Cheetahs pull in thier claws?

    I will answer my questions by using the internet, books and I might ask some other people.

    2)How often does a croc bit someone?
    3)How many types are there?
    4)how many teeth do they have?
    5)How old is the oldest croc?

    This year, because our inquiry topic is the animal kingdom
    i choose sting rays

    these are my questions.????????
    1)How bad is their sting?
    2)What do sting rays eat?
    3)How sharp is the sting rays stinger?
    4)What is the worst type of sting ray
    5)Where do they like to live?

    my animal is an ELEPHANT

    1.are they meat eaters?
    2.are there only female elephants?
    3.can they go up to the age 46?
    4.when do they start walking?
    5.(forgot!)

    and my way of solving this is going to the Kilbrunie library,internet,the zoo,parents.

    Hi kea class
    I choose polarbears as my animal.
    My questions were......
    Are polarbears mammals?
    How much do polarbaers weigh?
    Can polarbears live for long?
    What do polarbears eat?
    Do polarbears like the ice?

    I want to find my information on......
    *the computer
    *the librarary
    *the zoo
    and ask people that know about them.

    I amm going to preasent my work in
    a booklet
    poster
    slideshow
    or what mr douglas wants us to do.

    I am hoping to anwser my questions when I am finding my imformation or answer them during our leasons.

    I am going to enjoy this topic bbecause I love animals and my favourite is polarbears because they are really cute and fun and cool.

    2) Why shouldn't you mount a pony on it's right side?
