  1. Wednesday was awsome!

I liked how Joseph talked about his stories and told us interesting facts about Boggarts, Lamias (Ferel & Domestic), Malevolent Witches and Rippers.

He told us about his places in the story was based on real places such as the church and Pendle.

For ideas he didn't just write it down on a notebook, he had an envelope and put all his ideas into the envelope.

Also I asked him a few questions:

Q:Why do the Hard Book covers have a 7?
    A:7 is for a 7th son of a 7th son.

Q:Whens you next story coming out?
    A:June & October 2010.

Q:Why did mam turn to the light?
A:Her heart was filled with love.

I think that should happen everyday!!!

  2. Hi,
This is my Joseph Delaney visit 'recall.'
(This is what I have done so far).

Yesterday Joseph Delaney came to our school.
    I really enjoyed his visit.
I think it was amazing how he could just talk for 45 minutes non-stop!

I think that his method of getting ideas for his books was quite cool ,too.
Putting his ideas into an envelope and looking through them when he needed some ideas for one of his books.
I enjoyed it when he read us a bit of 'Dirty Dora', too. I think that story looked quite good, and if I saw it I might get it out.
I also liked the way he explained things. He used very detailed descriptions, I think.
I liked the way he told us about the boggart that lived in the church in the village he used to live in.
The priest must must have been pretty brave to bind the boggart!
His description ofof lamia's was quite good ,too.
I think it was a pretty clever idea to change lamia's to lamia witches, instead.
They sound pretty scary, and there is no way I would want to meet one!
I thought it was quite good that he told us what to expect if we googled 'lamia.'
I liked his idea of putting the idea of rolling someone down a hill in a barrel with spikes poking into the person into one of his books.
I also liked the way he used someones real name for the person in the barrel.

    See ya Monday.
    Jasmin.

  4. On Wedesday Joseph Delaney came to our shcool. Scotts came as well.He began by telling us about the secne Lachshire were the books are set.If you walk to the end you'll see stars and darkness but in the books you'll see just darkness and where witches etc live.

He told us about the witches book and he began to read us the start of the second story called Dirty Dora.He has writen a seventh story and is polishing it up so it should be out in summer 2010.

He is going to write a eighth book in Ireland and a ninth in Romania. He is proably going to write a tenth one to rap it up.His favourite one is the "Spook's Battle"(the fifth one) because it was the easiest to write. Also he is thinking of writing a diary of Alice's first two years.

He told us why Tom is called Tom Ward.It is because he had to friends and he combined them together to get Tom Ward.At the end he answered questions we asked. Then he signed paper etc and I got my notebook signed.

    The End

  5. When Joseph Delany came it was really neat. He came and talked about so many books he wrote that i'd never heard of. I felt happy seing a real author speak and get his autograph!

I liked hpw he told stories about how he became an author. Most people didn't like his first book so he tried 94 times before it got published

Anna asked why it said WARING:DON'T READ AFTER DARK. he responded that he didn't do it the publishers did it to make people react and say "oh this looks scary i want to read it or something like that"

He said he would write up to 9 maybe 10 books of the seris. I liked how he talked about where he was going to set his new books.

his favorite book was the spooks battle because it was very easy to write.

I really enjoied him coming to vist. ☺

  6. When Joseph Dealney came to talk to us about his books, I enjoyed it because he told us about his life as an author and his books, and what he is doing in the future and lot's of other things. He talked to us about a book he is doing soon about when they go on a boat to western Ireland in a place called Kerry and he has been to Ireland and looked around and found out some peoples names for his book. He that he wants to write about 10 books and he has published 6 and is working on his 7th now. After about 35 mins he finished up we had some Scots boys there aswell so they left at about 5 mins past 2 and so they went back to school and Joseph got a chair and a desk and sat down and started signing books and people when people asked him to sign for us, I got my diary signed. I really enjoyed Joseph coming, but I wish he could of stayed longer, he is awesome.

  9. yesterday Joesph Delaney came to our school.
    first he told us how billy died.{the apprentice before tom}
second he told us about boggarts [a creature that drinks blood]
third he told us about his draft of 'The Spooks Apprentice' and how he got rejected 96 times and he never gave up.
the question that stood up for me was "at the back of the book say warning:not to be read after dark".
he said"i didn't make it up people do it to make them want to read it".
And that is my experience of meeting Joesph Delaney.
